Whether your child is in traditional school or being homeschooled, I am here to help grow him or her into a successful reader. You have MORE than enough to be concerned about in this day and time. So, let me take THAT worry and frustration off of your plate. I provide 1-on-1 supplemental reading instruction for homeschool students and individualized reading support for students who are struggling to succeed in traditional schools.
About Me
My name is Shondolyn Young Richardson. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and a Certified Reading Specialist with a Master’s Degree in Reading/Literacy and I am here to help you and your child. My goal is to help your child become a passionate and successful reader. This will allow your child to be exposed to a world of endless potential and opportunities in life, both now and in the future.
Tailored Literacy is Here to Help
Even though there are many reading programs and consultants out there, very few of them are like Tailored Literacy. Many of the programs and consultants simply put your child in front of a computer and walk them through activities on a computer program. Even though Tailored Literacy’s services are provided virtually, the services are not automated. Everything that is done is specially catered to your child’s specific needs and your child will be engaged virtually with me as my instruction is individualized and interactive.

Before we get started, you are given a FREE CONSULTATION. During that time, I will want to know more about your particular situation. I would like to know such things as: your current concerns with your child’s reading progress, what your child’s teacher has noticed and reported about his or her reading progress, etc. I also take the time to answer any questions that you may have. By the end of the consultation, you will know if my services are right for you and your child. If Tailored Literacy is right for you, you will be given the option to choose the type of services that best fit your needs.
My Services
My list of services range from reading a book to your child and discussing it along with new vocabulary (Storytime), providing 30 minutes of one-on-one interactive instruction catered to your child’s needs (Tutoring Service), or providing you with a 30-minute parent consultation that will better prepare you to work with your child (Consulting Service).
